The Dungeon Denizens
We think, like all RPGs, 5e is a should be a tool box, you pick the rules for the job you are doing. A horror game needs some horror mechanics,in a fun house dungeon the rule of cool is king! But, if you try and use every tool in the box at the same time things can et messy. Pick the rules and tools of this site that are right for your game.
The Dungeons Dispelled folks love lots of games and cool ideas for homebrew that we can pick and choose to get our games just how we like them.. If you have any questions or cool ideas for content or how we can improve the site, just let us know.

I played my first RPG at age 8 with my pals at a local club. It was a middle earth role playing game and it was the trash fire you would expect.
After a few years I wanted to run my own games. I discovered Dungeons and Dragons with the launch of 3rd ed. Following the launch of pathfinder, I was taken by the ideas of games design and made my first RPG "Plunder." It was awful! I was attempting to bypass the need for a GM while use all my miniatures. The next game I made was a Sci-fi game called "Quadrant" It was better. It is still a chaotic mess.
Eventually, I got into 5e and have been homebrewing and DMing weekly ever since. I had a stint as a paid DM in a nerd bar. I set myself a quest to try something new each week with my home game as a means to improve my skills. It was mostly a mess, but I learned a lot.
I am now 34 years old. I am much larger than I was but still basically a child.

I’m Daryl, a lazy gamer who has been playing D&D 5e for about 5 years now mostly as a player with the occasional sprinkle of DMing in there.
As a player I fall mostly into a planner type who really needs to work on their role playing skills but sometimes it pays to have a player that has most of the rules memorised.
Cheesy as it sounds my goal is always to work smarter, not harder. There is a surprising amount of automation you can do with some very simple scripts and even simpler spreadsheets. Regrettably this has led to the nickname Captain Spreadsheet among some of my friends, at least until they need one of my spreadsheets!
